When I sent Dan the bracket I thought that he wanted the pedestal mount and cable connector to use as it would normally go.  I had no ideal that antenna's were made that used a connection like this.  He used the pedestal mount purely as the nut because he didn't have one.  This is a NGC UHV-6 antenna which has a PL259 base connection and it's about 5 foot tall so the mount, (my cable connector)  needs to be pretty strong.   With the connector being 1-1/2 inches in diameter at the base and the top part made with thick walls supporting the threads, she works like a charm.

So here you have two new products instead of one.

The Front Bed Rail Bracket and the

SO-239  Antenna Mount

Patent pending

Dan said that the bracket was very stiff and solid and he liked the way it looked. It could be a little shorter I think, I went a little high in giving it room for his bed cover.   You can put it anywhere along the rail you like, he just picked to use the corner because his antenna folds down when needed and it is easy to reach  it there.  You could put a whole line of antennas' across the bed if you wanted. And the bracket is so strong, it would support up to  20  pounds I believe.  Maybe more.

Now normally the pedestal mount would not be there.  Instead it will be two 1/2 inch nuts so they can be locked together plus hook up the wire between them and a regular size washer and insulators.   This is a NGC UHV-6 antenna which has a PL259 base connection. And its about 5 foot tall so the mount  (my cable connector)  needs to be pretty strongWith the connector being 1-1/2 inches in diameter at the base and the top part made with thick walls supporting the threads, she works like a charm.  Sometimes it really pays to make something stronger than it needs to be. It is nice coming up with a new product and not having to do or change anything.
